Nice French environment with young students working as waiters / waitresses. Makes me want to paint one of them in a French impressionist style...muscles and holding a round dish tray, or maybe charcoal etch.
Food was excellent as usual with a very reasonable pre-theatre set menu, the coffee very good...the milk had very good professional texture and the coffee a delight on the taste buds. Only criticism there wasn't a lot of it. Shame about the boisterous office parties, couldn't hear each other talk in the restaurant.

Second Cup cafe, Corporation Street, Manchester
On first entering it looked a tad utilitarian and down market. Staff were presentable and local and agreeably there was an all male team of baristas and I was blown away by the server with the muscular and hairy forearms.
The coffee had depth and good flavour notes and was competitively priced, with an ample selection of cakes. The clientele were smart / professional and favoured the mountain lodge like spacious room upstairs, a nice place to hide away from the bad weather, though the music was a bit irritating.
Located in a popular shopping spot between the Arndale and Marks and Spencers.

Christmas break
A bit of self help, a quick coffee grabbed in Neros on Portland Street Manchester. A sorry for ' we made you feel like sh*t'. I still have belonging even though the bar wasn't right for me today.
